The days of the $1.49 buffets are long gone--but, up until recently, some food freebies and cheap-deals could be found in Vegas! Gone, however, are the free donuts and coffee to gamblers at Slots-a-Fun on the Strip next to Circus Circus. And the 99 cent 1/2 lb hotdogs have gone up in price too--they're now $1.99 (which still, isn't a bad deal for the size of the hotdog!). The 99 cent shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate in downtown is no more ... it's now $1.99 at Du-Par's Deli ... again, still a great deal for the size of the glass of shrimp!
Arizona Charlie's on Boulder Highway used to boast of having the cheapest buffet in Vegas. Now-a-days, if one can find a buffet for between $8 and $10, that's a bargain! The Feast Buffet at Palace Station (with a player's card) should get you dinner for under $10. One of our favorites for breakfast is Circus Buffet at Circus Circus (for about $11.00).
