The Imperial Palace is destined for a major make-over as part of Caesars Entertainment Corp's Linq outdoor retail development.  The Imperial Palace will be renovated, re-themed and re-named.

Called the Flamingo Capri from 1959 to 1979, new owner Ralph Engelstad renamed the property Imperial Palace; Harrah's bought the hotel and casino in 2005.  In this photo, the Asian-themed Imperial Palace (predominantly blue) is to the left and the Irish-themed O'Shea's Casino (mostly red) is on the corner to the right.

Imperial Palace at night as seen from Caesars Forum Shops on the Strip.  For several years after Harrah's bought the Imperial Palace, there were rumors that both the IP and O'Shea's were doomed to implosion--however, Harrah's has recently invested millions of dollars in upgrades to both and neither will be torn down.

Imperial Palace from the rear seen from the Las Vegas Monorail--looking a little haggard and showing its age.  The Imperial Palace has the world's largest classic car showroom with more than 250 antique, classic, muscle and specialty cars on display (and nearly all for sale!) worth more than $100 million.

Deep inside the Imperial Palace (past the casino) and near the elevators (at the top of the escalators) to the hotel rooms.
