The neon Masquerade Show in the Sky at the Rio.

A monorail pulling into the Las Vegas Convention Center station on Paradise Rd.

The Greek Isles Hotel and Casino located about a block east of the Strip on Convention Center Drive.  In 1972 the hotel opened as the Royal Inn, then became the Paddlewheel, and then was bought by Debbie Reynolds in 1993.   The hotel has 202 rooms.  The hotel was forced into bankruptcy in 2009 and has since become the Clarion Hotel & Casino.

A rare commodity these days:  Kilroy's located near Flamingo and Grand Canyon--the only one left.  The location at Charleston and Buffalo closed. Kilroy's serves up a humongous hamburger and fries.  Note:  In our last visit to Kilroy's (October 13, 2010) the kitchen was shut-down.  A restaurant review on Yelp dated 11/20/2010 indicated the kitchen remained closed.  The bar is open.

A caboose at Sam's Town on Boulder Hwy.

A monorail shooting down the rail along Paradise Road between the Las Vegas Hilton and the Convention Center.

The Palms on Flamingo Rd--where the young L.A. jet-set like to go.
