Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort--formerly known as the Aladdin.  The old Aladdin opened on April 1, 1966; it was imploded on April 27, 1998 and a new Aladdin was built, which had a number of problems which delayed opening until August 18, 2000.  The new Aladdin was sold June 20, 2003 and became Planet Hollywood.

Planet Hollywood opened on April 17, 2007 with the official Grand Opening occurring on November 15, 2007.   The Desert Passage shopping mall was changed to the Miracle Mile Shops with a Hollywood theme.  In this picture, we find ourselves on the casino floor.

Looking down onto the casino floor from the mezzanine--a spacial area where guests can relax on sofas or in chairs and enjoy the sights and sounds of the casino below.  Also on the mezzanine are two fine-dining restaurants, Strip House and KOI, and the Spa by Mandara; the Planet Hollywood Showroom is also on this floor.

The casino area shown here is known as "The Pleasure Pit"--gaming tables with scantily-clad go-go dancers gyrating to music to entertain the gamblers.

The PH Towers Westgate luxury hotel is seen behind the main towre of Planet Hollywood.  The view is from Paris Las Vegas' Eiffel Tower.

Wayne Newton was once part-owner of the old Aladdin from 1980 to 1982.  Meanwhile, rumors abound that Harrah's is trying to take over Planet Hollywood; if Harrah's did, they would have total control of the east-side of the Strip from Harrah's Casino to PH.   In this picture, Harley Davidson Cafe is seen in front of PH, with the Eiffel Tower in the background and to the left.

This photo from the mezzanine was taken less than a month from Planet Hollywood's Grand Opening.  The music was throbbing and the go-go dancers were gyrating to the beat!

When comparing these earlier pictures with the later ones of the casino (above), it is evident that some changes have occurred during the two year interval between photo opportunities.
