Gold Coast

Gold Coast opened in December, 1986 and was the second casino to open west of I-15 following Palace Station.

Considered a "locals" casino, Gold Coast is owned by Boyd Gaming.  It is one of several casinos found in a cluster of resorts on Flamingo--making the area a second "Strip"..

When Gold Coast opened, it was the first resort featuring a movie theater.

The Orleans

This trio of alligators playing jazz greet the visitor inside the entrance to The Orleans--a little bit of the "Big Easy" in Vegas.

The Orleans features 1,885 rooms.  At the entrance in this photo is a free shuttle bus--it runs from 9 AM to 12:30 AM every half-hour between The Olreans and Bill's Gamblin' Hall on the Strip.

The hotel and casino opened in 1996; the Orleans Arena was added in 2003 and a second hotel tower the following year.

In this photo, a look inside the casino.  The Orleans is a major poker playing venue for the Las Vegas area.

At night, the facade of The Orleans comes alive with lighting that enhances the New Orleanian motif.

Suncoast

The Suncoast Hotel and Casino is located on W. Alta Drive off Fort Apache.  When it opened in September, 2000, it was the tallest building on the west-side of the metropolitan area.

The casino is 82,000 sq feet in area with over 2000 slot machines.

Sam's Town

Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall is located in the township of Sunrise Manor, NV on Boulder Hwy.  The original Sam's Town opened in 1979 and was the first "locals" casino to open in Las Vegas.

Besides a casino and hotel, Sam's Town offers a movie theater complex, a bowling alley and an RV park.  Being about four-miles east of the Strip, room rates are usually lower than other hotels as well.
