Located six-miles south of Mandalay Bay, to say that South Point is on the Strip is a stretch--yet, it is on Las Vegas Blvd, and it is the biggest mega-casino resort in its vicinity. Originally starting out as South Coast (one of several Coast casinos and opening in December, 2005), the mega resort was renamed South Point about a year later.
South Point consists of a 25-story hotel; a convention center; a 4,400 seat equestrian arena; a 16-screen movie theater; a 64-lane bowling alley; and eight restaurants.
South Point has expanded to three towers with a total of 2,163 rooms.
Built on 60 acres, total gaming space in the facility is 80,000 square feet.
